Modules
Strategy and Business Development
30 credits
By intertwining the strategic and marketing aspects of business, this module aims to capture their transformative effect on external interactions and people’s perceptions. We encourage students to dissect the competitive landscape using robust strategic tools, and aim high by seeking evidence-based innovative marketing plans that match the strategy. Business identities should not only appear impressive, but be formidable in action.
Operations, People and Leadership
30 credits
To be successful a business needs to run effectively day to day. In this module, we look at how to manage and seek to improve business operations, including production, service delivery, process design, supply chain management, and logistics. To improve further, we must consider how best to work together as people. We focus on how to work effectively as part of a team and as a leader, and how to run an effective business that encourages staff and earns their engagement.
Responsible Management and Accounting
30 credits
This module has a focus on responsible management, transparent accounting, sustainable business practices, and business ethics. It helps students understand and make decisions using the financial aspects of business, and how to integrate these with other considerations. It explores how to be conscientious and successful, and how to be heard. Students will be encouraged to consider their own values and how they wish to work, manage, and lead.
Strategic Digital Transformation
30 credits
This module initially focuses on digital transformation, and how organisations make use of the opportunity and succeed in this new environment. A range of topics are then available. Students will have flexibility to choose the focus for their assignment, applying these concepts to an area of their choice. This allows students to follow a study path that is relevant to them.
Modules
Aston Global Advantage
30 credits
The Aston Global Advantage module enables students to assess their personal development during the programme, consolidate their learning, and plan how to improve still further. Valuable personal development includes the ability to research, synthesise and evaluate varied sources, and understand and design a research project. These skills equip students well for critical thinking and lifelong learning after their degree.
Masters in Management Project
30 credits
Students will carry out an original piece of work by applying the material they have learned in the taught element of their degree. Students must demonstrate both theoretical and practical knowledge of their chosen area of specialism.
